Let’s disco!

Discount rate has changed! Up to a 50 bps variance from the Fed Funds rate, so now at .75% No real effect – just makes it more expensive for banks to borrow from the Fed, and not a lot of that is going on.
Geeky fun

Google the word “recursion” and “the loneliest number” as well. While you’re at it, how about googling “the answer to life, the universe, and everything”, “once in a blue moon”, and “ascii art”. Fun [geeky] times.
Keeping myself honest!

I have been giving an earnest effort in my new years resolutions, and I feel proud! Ok so here is my progress:
Educating myself in classic/popular films - Have watched:
Dr. Strangelove (excellent)
Layercake (not bad!)
Arrested Development (in progress – and I know it’s not a movie, but my education in it is being forced)
Reading a book a month, at least – Have read:
The Unbearable Lightness of Being – Kundera (awesome.)
A Man Without a Country – Vonnegut (again, awesome.)
Existentialism is a Humanism – Sartre (in progress)
Godel, Escher, Back – Hofstadter (in progress – will take me forever)
Increasing my vocabulary – I’ve got a google doc list of 20 new words!
Of course, there are others – healthy living (pescatarianism!), improvement in attitude (…), yadda yadda yadda…
On my way to a successful year :]
It’s been a while.

Wow hmm, it’s been a while since I last posted.
Well – I thought perhaps I’d take this blog in a slightly different, broader direction. I often have thoughts that I’d like to write & publish but don’t fit in line with purely the dismal science. So – let’s try something new!
